Substance is a registered nonprofit organization in the state of Minnesota. We work to break out of the non-profit status quo by creating a unique organization structure focused on sustainability as well as integrating alternative revenue streams. We are registered as a non-profit LLC; we are not a 501(c)3 charitable organization, meaning that we operate as a non-profit business based around a mission.
However, our business revenue is only a portion of our income. We depend on support from the grassroots so that we may continue bringing you live entertainment with a message.

- Internships with Substance – We bring on interns every winter, summer, and fall term (3 month terms) to help with many aspects of the groups work. Most positions are unpaid but we offer academic credit. 10 hours/week generally expected, no need to be a student. Gain experience and connections in the music business, political organizing, and non-profit/social enterprise development.
